Dedicated again to the renowned author who adored the Lake District, this is a 17th-century stone house that displays the original art work of Beatrix Potter. Potter was an ardent lover of nature and her eternal inspiration for all her works. Original sketches and water color paintings that feature in her books are presented in the gallery along with comprehensive information on her life and work. The vintage house was in fact, the law office of Potter's husband, William Heelis at one point. On the occasion of her 150th birth anniversary in July 2016, additional pieces of art are expected to be on display including original illustrations from classics such as 'The Tale of Jemina Puddleduck'. There is a souvenir shop where you can pick up all the original Beatrix Potter merchandise and collectibles like badges, magnets and stuffed toys.
