It was in the year 1989 that the Berlin Wall fell and changed the course of history forever. This year, on its 30th anniversary, the Fall of the Berlin Wall will be celebrated with 100 events. These will be held at the seven sites, where the Peaceful Revolution took place in the city of Berlin.
Between November 4 and November 10, 2019, Berlin will be transformed into an open-air exhibition and a venue for events. Expect to experience concerts, readings, contemporary witness talks, poetry slams, lectures, and even film screenings. People from all over the world can come and experience this incredible festival, and be a part of this historic event. Some of the performers you will be able to watch here are Patti Smith, Staatskapelle Berlin, and DJ West Berlin.
The festival will also feature an interesting floating art installation that is going to contain 30000 handwritten messages. Visitors and Berliners have been asked to share their messages with the world, and all those messages will be placed together in a large art installation. The art installation can be visible in the sky at Brandenburg Gate on the festival days.
