If you want to really experience France in its vibrant and dynamic glory, the city of Bordeaux is an ideal destination. The region, located 800 kms from Nice, has Instagram-ready scenery, which you can view from Jean-Jacques Bosc bridge across the Garonne River. Grab a meal at one of the dining haunts or stop by for some wine in the evening. There are ample barista-run coffee shops for café hoppers, the feisty university crowd and even the thousands of vacationers that visit the city annually. Interestingly, 50 percent of the city has been listed under the UNESCO, thereby, making it the largest urban World Heritage site. Apart of a slew of amazing heritage buildings, the Herzog & de Meuron stadium, decanter-shaped La Cité du Vin and a few more modern creations are worth checking out.
