Yes, you read that right. We are talking about a secluded beach in Odisha, where one can witness the sea disappearing mysteriously. This is the Chandipur Beach, and is known for its unique feature of playing hide and seek with its visitors.
Well, when you are at Chandipur Beach, you can actually witness the sea disappearing in front of your eyes and reappearing again. Well, this is because at the sea water moves retreats by 2-5 km during ebb tide, the duration between the high tide and low tide, and comes back to the shore at the time of high tide. This unusual natural phenomenon keeps on happening daily, where one can actually see the sea, and then watch it disappear in front of their eyes.
Apart from this unique phenomenon, this beach is like any other beach and offers a good experience to beach bums. It’s also interesting to note that when the sea recedes, one can actually walk over it and create an illusion of somebody actually walking on the sea.
Tourists and morning beach walkers are often amazed when they witness this first hand, which is also one of the reasons why this beach is quite popular among people. If reports are to go by, there is no fixed timings for the tides to go away and reappear as it depends on the moon cycle.
