To mark the 550 th anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism, a region of a street in Canada’s Brampton city has been named after him ‘Guru Nanak Street’. The unveiling ceremony of the street sign board took place a few days back in the presence of Patrick Brown, Mayor, Brampton City.
The whole city witnessed the unveiling ceremony of the signboard with ‘Guru Nanak St’ written on it. Besides, a number of local police officials and Sikh community people were also present at the venue.
The city of Brampton in Canada has a huge population of Sikhs. The city is home to more than 2 lakh people belonging from the Sikh community and it certainly was a proud moment.
