The capital city of India–Delhi–has found its way to the Travellers' Choice Awards for Destinations conducted by a leading portal. The city ranks 22nd in the world and 8th in Asia in the top destination for 2018 category by TripAdvisor.
The city has something for everyone, and it is always abuzz with an eclectic array of events and programmes. It is one city that experiences all the seasons in their entirety, and its proximity to the great Indian Himalayas makes it all the more likeable. In addition, Delhi has lots of open green spaces, the best of food, authentic spiritual vibes, trading centres, and so much more that a traveller can ask from a great trip.
Going back to the 25 travellers choice destinations list, the French capital, Paris, has gone up to occupy the numero uno spot followed by global cities, including London, Rome, Bali and the Greek city of Crete in that order.In the list of best Asian cities, three Indian destinations namely Delhi, Goa and Jaipur have featured at the 8th, 9th and 16th position respectively.
Apparently, Goa is highly sought by global travellers for its safe environment, gorgeous coastline, chilled out nightlife, delicious cuisine, beautiful landscapes and much more. As for Jaipur, the all-pervading allure of the Pink City of Rajasthan is too hard to be resisted. The heritage architecture, the princely cuisine, the traditional jewellery, the leheriya textiles, the local legends etc. are the crowd-pullers of Jaipur.
