Jumeirah Beach Park

A sandy escape on the Arabian Gulf

For a (semi-) public beach, Jumeirah Beach Park is not short on amenities. Encompassing 12 hectares of supple sand and grassland, the beach-park hybrid has clean toilets and dressing rooms, a swimming pool, volleyball courts and ample parking. It’s no wonder it’s a favourite weekend hangout for many of the city’s residents. Alas, the reasonable price means it’s also usually swamped.
There are several food kiosks throughout the park, though many visitors prefer to make use of the public barbecues, as the manicured lawn makes an inviting spot for a picnic. Don’t worry about taking a dip after lunch: there are plenty of lifeguards on duty should you suffer from a post-meal cramp. Please note that the park is closed to men on Mondays and Saturdays.
