Everyday photos from South India that are as surreal as picture postcards!
We bring to you the magic of South India, from Karnataka and Kerala to Telangana and the Andamans and more. Places so beautiful that they might as well look like freshly painted paintings. Here, everyday photos from all across the region.
Auroville
This is the aerial view of the world-famous Auroville.
It is hailed as India's first experimental township and sits by the more famous Puducherry (Pondicherry). It was built for 50,000 people and sees volunteers coming in from all over the world. It's loved by tourists who are into wellness, retreats, voluntourism, sustainability and such.
Andaman & Nicobar
The Andaman & Nicobar islands are also a part of South India, and are perhaps one of the most surreal places in the country. Scenes like this are an everyday affair on its sun-kissed shores, swept by sparkling blue waters, rich marine life, and an almost utopic existence.
The North Sentinel Island is also a part of the cluster and is famous known as The Hardest Place to Visit in the World.

Nagarahole National Park
This national park lies in Karnataka; once you're in, it will feel like a Shakespearean forest that's come alive. Jungle safaris here are surreal, with scenes like this throughout the trails. Kabini river also winds through the jungle; the park is a part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve.

Hampi
While Hampi is famous for its hippie vibes and bouldering options, the place also has a lot of mystique with awe-inspiring scenes like this. Back in days, it was the capital of the Vijaynagara Empire and the ruins here stand as a testimony to the same. Sunrise and sunset views over these ruins is an unforgettable affair.

Alleppey
In all probability, your mornings in Alleppey will look like this. The place looks more like a freshly-painted canvas, rippling with the laidback charm of a place where time turns slower. On a regular day, you'll spot locals and school students rowing across the backwaters here.
Gandikota
Gandikota is one of the most interesting natural treasures of Andhra Pradesh. If you are planning a trip to South India, this one deserves a definite spot in your itinerary. It is also famous as the Grand Canyon of India, and looks nothing less than its namesake.
Mamallapuram
Mamallapuram (also Mahabalipuram) sits between the Bay of Bengal and the Great Salt Lake in Tamil Nadu. A typical morning or sunsets look like this here, a place also famed for UNESCO Group of Monuments.
Hyderabad
Take a stroll around the Char Minar area in Hyderabad on a late evening and you'll found yourself in joyous cacophony like this. An interesting local market surrounds the place. The place is a street photographer's dream come true.
Of course, Hyderabad has more charms as well.
Kanyakumari
This is one of South India's most photographed sits and rightly so. Kanyakumari sits at India's southernmost tip in the state of Tamil Nadu and touches the Lacadive Sea. It is also the only place on the planet where one can watch both the sun rise and set at the ocean.
Varkala
Kerala's Varkala is another place that will leave you charmed. An aerial view of the place looks like this, with the ocean lapping against the now famous cliffs here. It's also one of the few places in the country where hills meet the sea.
