Start your day with a road trip and head to the largest Renaissance castle in Scandinavia―Frederiksborg located in Hillerød. It rained as we entered the opulent castle which stood like a grand edifice on the Palace Lake. Although it was originally built in the 16th century, it was rebuilt by Christian IV in the next century. While the palace is today a museum, with larger than life portraits and paintings, the highlight of the visit is the Palace Church which leaves you breathless.
