Pucusana is a little fishing village that is a favoured weekend getaway for a lot of Peruvians residing in Lima. Pucusana is just an hour’s drive away from Lima and this makes it a convenient weekend getaway. The tiny village boasts of a picturesque harbour. Here, dozens upon dozens of fishing boats can be seen bobbing on the waters of the Pacific Ocean. Choose a comfortable hotel and deposit your bags before you set out to explore the village. Once you’re out and about choose from a variety of activities on offer. You can indulge in water sports or just laze around on one of Pucusana’s many beaches. You can also walk along the beach and watch local fishermen go about their business. If you’re not in the mood to hang around a beach, just rent a boat and go sailing to a nearby island. Pucusana and the islands around it are rich in bird life and you will spot many colourful birds hovering in the sky or resting on rocks. Pucusana is a short distance away from Lima, but it feels like a different world away from the hustle bustle of city life.
