The House of Wannsee Conference in Berlin, which is the villa where Nazi party officials met on January 20, 1942, in order to decide the Final Solution of the Jewish Question, or the holocaust, is now opening a permanent exhibition. Located in Berlin, this villa on the lakeside went down in history as the place where the horrendous atrocities on Jews were planned on one January day in 1942. The exhibition is called, The Meeting at Wannsee and the Murders of European Jews.
The House of Wannsee Conference is now going through upgrades for the exhibition, and the villa authorities are hoping to attract many more visitors through the new initiative, students in particular. Visitors should be engaged for a longer period with these interactive displays that are now being added.
The disgraceful meeting on January 20, 1948 was chaired by Reinhard Heydrich, and it is said that cognac was served after the meeting got over. Adolf Eichman had testified during his trial that people also spoke freely of extermination (post-meeting) without the usage of any code language. Most of the papers related to the meeting were destroyed, except one.
