Kaziranga and Manas National Park reopens after a hiatus for tourists

Kaziranga National Park has reopened for tourism after remaining closed during the monsoon season, and so is the Manas National Park in Assam.

As per latest news reports, a notification was recently given by the Divisional Forest Officer to reopen Kaziranga National Park for the year 2019-2020. However, because of inclement weather, and road conditions inside the national park, only jeep safari will be available for tourists only at Kohora, Kaziranga range, and western range Bagori.While the jeep safari in Kaziranga range and Kohora will be open up to Vaisamari, the said activity at Bagori will open up to Dunga watchtower and Bimali Tiniali until further orders. Also, the date to open the gates of eastern range, i.e, Agaratali, Ghurakathi, and Burapahar and elephant ride in the park will also be notified soon.
Further, Kampa Borgoyary, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) deputy chief, recently inaugurated the Manas National Park in the presence of a large number of officials and visitors at the main office gate complex at Bansbari forest range in Assam’s Baksa district. This UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site also opened after six months with the onset of winter season.

While inaugurating the park, the deputy chief said that the forest and tourism departments of the BTC are making efforts to develop the park, and also provide a new dimension to the beautiful natural scenery in the region.
