As per latest news reports, a notification was recently given by the Divisional Forest Officer to reopen Kaziranga National Park for the year 2019-2020. However, because of inclement weather, and road conditions inside the national park, only jeep safari will be available for tourists only at Kohora, Kaziranga range, and western range Bagori.
Further, Kampa Borgoyary, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) deputy chief, recently inaugurated the Manas National Park in the presence of a large number of officials and visitors at the main office gate complex at Bansbari forest range in Assam’s Baksa district. This UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site also opened after six months with the onset of winter season.
While inaugurating the park, the deputy chief said that the forest and tourism departments of the BTC are making efforts to develop the park, and also provide a new dimension to the beautiful natural scenery in the region.
