Langkawi is over-rated, all the best beaches are bought by the most expensive hotels. Directions to find hotels are non-existent, the duty-free shops are okay. But beware of renting cars at the shady car rental counters at the airport, they are terrible. My car was not filled with petrol and low oil levels, it broke down immediately on leaving the airport parking lot! I got another car which was okay but very difficult to return the car at the airport as there are no counters to deal with this, guys just hang around the airport like touts! Better to rent in the town with reputed car rental companies.Read More
