This majestic temple can be spotted from almost any corner of the small town of Orchha. The temple is constructed on a colossal stone platform and the walls feature intricate designs and religious emblems, especially lotuses. It is the large stone platform that provides it that extra elevation and therefore making it appear like a large tower. Within the vaults of the temple resides a jewel and silk adorned idol of Vishnu. Chaturbhuj means the one with four arms and one could see this depicted in the idol. The spiraling domes are not only etched intricately from the outside, but the interior carvings are as exquisite. The construction of the temple was started by Raja Madhukar Shah and completed by his son Bir Singh Deo.
