Named after a giant sachem who was the leader of a tribe, this beach has cliffs around it. The cliffs are lovely and you would not regret travelling from the other side of the island for this.
The Aquinnah cliffs add to the beauty of this beach. There you would also see sunbathers taking mud from the cliffs and having fun with mud baths! The cliffs are picturesque and consist of different sands, gravels, and colors. All this is well complemented by the blue waters of the ocean.
There is limited development around the beach, which thankfully leaves the beach with its untouched beauty. Nearby is also the splendid lighthouse.
Once you are at the beach, you can go to different places. ‘The Bite’ is reported to be the best restaurant for serving seafood straight from the water. You could also make a trip to the resort town of Edgartown, which was once a seaport village.
