When it comes to the best wellness destinations in the country, Kerala’s name features somewhere towards the top. While the state already has the reputation of being the ‘land of ayurveda,’ the state tourism board is now looking to promote the state as a dedicated yoga destination.
Various tourism industry stakeholders in the state have decided to develop a yoga circuit across the destination, wherein they intend to link yoga and meditation centres, ashrams, and tourist destinations.

In order to send out the message about Kerala being a yoga destination to different parts of the world, the Union government’s Department of Ayush and Kerala Tourism have joined hands to organise a ‘yoga ambassadors tour.’ The event will see established journalists from different parts of the world, along with several yoga tour operators, getting familiarised with the places in Kerala that have the potential of being yoga destinations.
While Kerala is already popular as a destination with abundance of natural beauty, stunning backwaters and ayurvedic richness, the state is likely to become a place where travellers will visit to explore the power and beauty of yoga.
