The Mysore District Administration, Mysore Palace Board, and Karnataka Tourism Department have organised this festival in such a manner that tourists find a lot of things to do apart from going around for usual sightseeing activity.
As per the latest news reports, there will be a 17 ft tall statue of Maharaja Jayachamaraja of the Wadiyar dynasty, to pay tribute on the occasion of his hundredth birth anniversary. Further, comic characters like Chota Bheem and Mr. Bean will also be featuring as floral statues to cater the kids. During this 10-day affair, the main attraction is the Flower Show that is held in the popular Mysore Palace premises.
Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry in Mysore hosts a dedicated food festival as a part of the event, which features organic and tribal foods like bamboo rice dishes, Makali roots, and bamboo rice payasam. On December 31, a wonderful exhibition will also be held.
Further, with the motive of using this opportunity, the district administration and Forest Department have also teamed up to organise bird watching tours for bird and wildlife lovers.
