Located in yet another quintessential South-side state Alabama, Mobile is about 2 hours away from New Orleans. The coastal city of Alabama is located between Mississippi and Florida, and is perhaps one of the most underrated destinations of the USA. It is here in Mobile where the oldest annual carnival is celebrated, which started way back in 1703. The charming waterfront is certainly alluring to say the least, then to add to this are the stunning mansions dotted across the city. There is a wide presence of Spanish and French cultures here in Mobile, due to its colonial history, and this makes it all too magnificent. The place is also famous for its carnivals, including the Mardi Gras, so if you are lucky, you can catch the fun and frolic! Visit the Mobile Museum of Art for an insight on the art and culture of the place.
