Otres 2 is fast becoming a “must see” in Cambodia. Further around the coast from Ouchetal and Otres Beach, Otres 2 is a quiet slice of heaven. To get there you will need to catch a bus from Phnom Penh or Kampot to Sihanoukville and then a 20-minute tuk tuk ($7) ride to the beach. Otres 2 has many of the natural qualities of Otres Beach- the water is still clean and fresh, the sand is white and the beach is shaded by several large trees. The difference is Otres 2 is slightly more upmarket so ends up being a bit quieter without the backpackers lounging around. Many expats frequent the beach with their families during the many Cambodian public holidays. Over the past few years, several large 5 star resorts have opened up along the beach. Ren and Secret Garden are fantastic for those looking for a more comfortable beach stay. They both have pools, outdoor showers in the rooms and fantastic restaurants right on the beach. Like Otres Beach, Otres 2 also has many guesthouses with day beds on the beach for your use (for free) with the purchase of a drink or some food.
