Pura Goa Lawah is another important temple for Balinese, it is part of the six holy places of worship. Balinese believe that Pura Goa Lawah is connected with Pura Besakih by underground caves. Locals also believe that the holy river which runs underneath contains healing powers. This sacred temple is an active temple, visited by devotees on daily basis, who can be seen whispering prayers at the mouth of the caves. The tourists usually visit the place to see bats. The caves can be seen lined with sleepy bats during the day time. Not a big temple, but worth a stop on the way to Candidasa.
