Tokyo is home to two record-setting world’s tallest buildings. There is Tokyo Tower, the world’s tallest self-supporting steel tower, and Tokyo Skytree, the world’s tallest freestanding broadcasting tower. At 634 m, it is also the world’s second tallest building behind the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.Primarily intended as a radio and television station, Tokyo Skytree has also become a popular viewing point of both tourists and Tokyo locals. On a clear day, Mount Fuji can be seen in the distance—over 100 km (65 miles) away! The only downside is that it is considerably more expensive than Mori Tower and Tokyo Tower. 3,000 yen for entry to the observation deck at 350 m or 4,000 to gain access to the 450 m viewing station.
Nearby: Asaukasa and Senso-Ji Temple.
