Ada Bridge is a newly dominating landmark on Belgrade skyline. Built in 2012, Ada Bridge connects the municipalities of Čukarica and New Belgrade. Constructed over Sava River, it is a cable-stayed bridge, and is the forth bridge built on this river. The Ada Bridge is the largest single-pylon cable bridge in the world. The bridge crosses the tip of Ada Ciganlija Island, and the pylon is located on the island. The bridge can be viewed in its full glory from a boat while cruising on the River Sava. Ada Ciganlija Island is another vantage point to observe the beautiful design of this bridge. The construction of the bridge has been covered by a television series “Extreme Engineering” on Discovery Channel. You can spot all the bridges on River Sava from the vantage point of the Avala Tower. Take a night tour around Belgrade and marvel the beauty of Ada Bridge illuminated with colourful lights. This technological achievement of the Serbians has added another feather on the already much decorated hat of Belgrade.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
