Good news for train travellers as Tejas Express will now give out compensation to passengers for delays. According to the latest reports, the train travelling on the Delhi-Lucknow route will be compensating travellers in the event of a delay. The train is India’s first semi-high speed, fully air-conditioned one.
Additionally, IRCTC has also announced some new offers, such as free travel insurance of INR 25 lakh, on-board infotainment services, doorstep baggage collection, and local food for passengers. Plus, they are planning to let go of tatkal quota for this train. The train is scheduled to make its first commercial run on October 5, 2019.
The system is similar to cities around the world such as Japan and Paris. Tejas Express Lucknow to New Delhi, which will run for six days a week, will cost passengers INR 1125 for AC chair cars, and INR 2310 for Executive Chair Cars. The New Delhi to Lucknow train, which will also run six days a week, is priced at INR 1280 for AC Chair Car and INR 2450 for Executive Chair Car.
