Sitabari is a famous pilgrimage site situated about 45 km from Baran in Rajasthan. It is also very popular among the locals and tourists as a picnic spot. Legend has it that the twin sons of Sita and Rama, Luv-Kush, were born at this site during the period of Ramayana thousands of years ago. Temples of Sita Devi and Rama’s brother Lakshmana are also present at Sitabari. In addition, there are water reservoirs or kund named after the characters of Ramayana such as Sita kund, Laxman kund, Valmiki kund, Surya kund and so on. At Sitabari, a famous fair is also held here. The locals and devotees also organise Sahariya Fair every May and June.
