There’s no doubt in the fact that we Indians love to travel, but now it appears that we are a race consisting of some of the most modern travellers as well. News reports have revealed that a recent survey has ranked Indians as the most digitally advanced travellers in the world, in terms of using digital tools for travel purposes.

What makes it an even prouder thing for Indian travellers is the fact that these rankings have been given on the basis of an online survey which saw the participation of 11,000 travellers from 19 countries. These participants together highlighted the use of digital tools when planning, booking and experiencing a journey.
As far as the Indian participants were concerned, there were thousands of them who had taken at least one round-trip flight last year. Based on this volume of participation of Indians, the survey revealed that most Indian travellers prefer smartphones as their choice of device for digital bookings. And also, as much as 82 percent of these Indian travellers believe in the effectiveness and ease of travel provided by mobile boarding passes and e-tickets.

The survey also revealed other valuable travel related data, including the fact that 66 percent of travellers avoid booking hotels that charge money for the use of Wi-Fi, while 83 percent of the respondents give importance to the fact that virtual communication with friends and family should be there at all times while travelling.
