Tirumala shrine is one of the busiest places of pilgrimage in India with about 20 million people visiting it every year. The presiding deity Lord Sree Venkateswara is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu in the dark age of Kaliyuga. The magnificent gold plated Tirumala temple is a fine example of Indian architecture. The temple of Goddess Sree Padmavathi Ammavari is situated in Tiruchanuru near Tirupati town, and is a must-visit by all the pilgrims. For the record, the temple of Lord Balaji is the richest temple in India.
