As per the latest reports, the trekkers were en route to a Himalayan mountain near a base camp in the Annapurna trekking zone last Friday. Reportedly, the avalanche took place at an altitude of 3230 m (10600 ft), which is around 150 km (93 m) north-west of Kathmandu.
Referring to this, the Department of Tourism (DoT) stated that the government is sending a well-equipped, high-tech team to rescue as those seven missing trekkers in the Annapurna area of Kaski District on Monday. It also informed that the rescue team has members from the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), Nepal’s army, and the Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA).
The TAAN also informed that around 130 trekkers have been rescued with the help of local people, trekking guides, and security personnel, and they have been taken to Pokhara and Chomrong.
