The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) is planning to introduce Night Vihar tourism package to let tourists trek through the dense woods of Visakhapatnam in the middle of the night.
The short-cut to Araku via Sunkarametta from Vizag or Visakhapatnam has been chosen for conducting Night Vihar tours.
Araku Valley has remained off-the-tourism-radar for a long time. It is a hill station, also known as Ooty of Andhra Pradesh, for its beautiful hills, abundant forests, river streams and lots of fresh air. It is ideal for a visit between October to March when the weather is cooler.
Fortunately, Araku Valley has its own railhead, with direct trains connecting it to Visakhapatnam. By air, tourists can reach Araku Valley by taking a flight to Visakhapatnam, and then hire a cab or board a bus/train to Araku. En route Araku, tourists also prefer taking a break at Punyagiri, which is a wonderful pilgrimage destination known for its temple and wat erfall.
