Samadi

Samadi in Canggu is a gem of a place with a guesthouse, yoga studio, spa and an organic vegetarian café situated in the garden of a splendid villa. The restaurant describes its food as an experiment, which is “mixing sunny world-cuisine with gourmet un-cooking and home-grown ingredients to create a Gourmetarian experience.” Samadi serves Indian dishes including dosas, uthappam, paratha, idli and thalis. They also have great brunches, a nice salad bar, and raw Italian food like lasagne and mushroom burgers and some healthy kids’ meals.
The owners are very hospitable, and they source for fair trade ingredients whenever possible, and only buy what is in season. On Sundays they have a nice farmer’s market where you can buy locally grown organic fruit and vegetables among other things. Samadi is open for breakfast and lunch every day 8 am – 3 pm, but is currently only open for dinner once a week on Wednesdays when they have vegetarian dinner and movie night. They even conduct free yoga class on Fridays.
