Opened in 1990, this is another of Ubud’s institutions, a restaurant on large premises that overlooks some beautiful rice paddies. It is a great place to dine, suitable for either those that seek to have a night out with friends or the ones, who are looking for more of a romantic dinner. The extensive menu contains international staples, salads and sandwiches as well as the best-known Indonesian dishes such as nasi goreng—fried rice with eggs, chicken, shrimps and vegetables accompanied with eggs and satay sauce. There is a wide vegetarian selection as well apart from an abundance of duck dishes, including bebek bengil, the original crispy duck, that is duck steamed in Indonesian spices, fried to give it a crispy finish. There’s also a very wide dessert selection. Staff is very friendly and the service very fast. The prices are more than reasonable. No wonder it is one of the most popular restaurants in Ubud.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
