This pasty shop is over 100 years old and perhaps that is why they are the best pastry shop to visit in Rome if you are looking for a quick, yet sweet bite. The huge display counter features an endless amount of beautiful and delicious pastries, and we suggest trying more than just one. An addition was added a few years ago that allows customers to sit down at the tables and chairs in the bar area. One of the most popular things to order here is the maritozzo. This classic pastry is basically a bun topped with heavy cream, indulgent and frequently eaten as a breakfast food all year around. Another great thing about this shop is the English speaking staff, no need to worry how to order in Italian. The coffee is also superb here, and don’t miss the strawberry covered tarts or the chocolate Fagottino alla Ricotta. It’s no wonder this place has survived a 100 years with its excellent service, and incredible pastries. And hey, don’t feel guilty if you eat more than one, as they say “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.”Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
