Burger Junkyard

Founded by four young friends with culinary arts degrees, Burger Junkyard is unapologetically playful, with walls plastered in graffiti art and casual seating that resembles a rowdy teenager’s den. Although located in a somewhat inconvenient area—it’s slightly challenging to access and parking space is difficult to come by given the constant road works and construction—the journey is worth the reward. Their burger is encased in a butter brioche bun that’s sweet but not excessively so, and provides the perfect foil for the succulent patty cradled within. The no-holds-barred Texas Hold Me (beef, bacon, cheddar, onion rings and a smoked barbecue aioli) is a good one to go with, but it’s the Balsamic Beefin (Onions, pan-roasted tomatoes, balsamic raisin sauce and caramelised onion chutney) that will really give you the complete burger experience. Although small eaters could opt for the half sized burger, the deliciousness might make it difficult to resist going the whole hog.
