The more ardent foodies can try something quite different at the Lung Ta Restaurant that serves Japanese vegetarian dishes. A place of much bonhomie, it sees travel stories being exchanged over good food. An almost vegan menu here has udon (flattened wheat noodles in soy soup), miso soup, sushi, tempura (deep fried vegetables), tofu steak, sushi roll and perhaps the best donuts in the town. Their everyday specials are worth calling ‘specials’ and so is the gorgeous view from the terrace. A great collection of books on Buddhism and Tibet offer a great attraction too; there is nothing like a good cup of coffee and a great book, right?
