Ever eaten at a Michelin-starred restaurant? They are some of the finest in the world. They also do not come cheap. Except for Shinjuku Kappo Nakajima, quite possibly the cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant in the entire world! Here you can dine like a king for near peasant prices.Nakajima is a cozy restaurant with a bar and several tables, enough room for a couple dozen people or so. An open kitchen allows guests to watch the chefs at work and provides a little entertainment while waiting for your food. The lunch menu is limited to four options but will leave you full and satisfied while only setting you back around by 1,100-1,200 yen. However, dinner is where Nakajima really shines. The 10 course Chef’s Selection with wine pairing comes with a price tag of 15,000 yen, but even that is inexpensive compared to the quality.
Recommended dish: Nakajima is known for their sardines and they come prepared in a variety of ways—all of them delicious!
