One of Bangalore’s true-blue Italian restaurants, Via Milano has maintained a stellar standard over the years, and holds prime space on the city’s culinary scene even to this day. Constantly re-inventing their menu to keep abreast of changing food trends, the restaurant occupies two levels—the downstairs is air conditioned, with floor to ceiling windows and candle-light by night, and the first floor is open on three sides and has a more casual vibe as opposed to the formal ambience below—and is almost always filled to full capacity (Via Milano thrives on business from regular customers). The Foie Gras on toast, salmon with lemon caper sauce, beef carpaccio and baby octopus salad are a must, and are best eaten when paired with a wine from their extensive list (ask the waiters to recommend one to accompany every course, they’ll be happy to oblige). When it comes to authentic Italian cuisine, you can’t go wrong with Via Milano.
