The location is simply stunning, set inside the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway stable that is over 100 years old. The place is loaded with historic brick walls, an impressive chef’s table and one awesome patio. The chef and owner Michael Shafer has impressed all sorts of celebrity guests with his ‘no limits’ culinary experience. He blends Asian, Italian and French influences with thoughtful cooking that allow for new innovative techniques. The menu is constantly changing, depending on the season and availability of ingredients, and always includes separately priced appetizers and a fixed three-course dinner price. Here you can taste appetizers such as lobster bisque or peach salad, followed by entrees such as duck confit with kale and walnuts or steak frites with truffle and bacon. Dessert also accompanies the three-course dinner and includes choices such as crème brulee and lemon torte. The soaring ceilings of this second-floor restaurant as well as the fireplace and elegant décor make Sydney's at The Forks one of the sought-after restaurants in Winnipeg for a romantic meal.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
