It is not the good ol’ lassi or almond milk that the people in inner Punjab, northern India and some provinces of Pakistan favour. Rather, most people tend to visit the nearest confectioner in their city or town to buy themselves a glass of Doodh Soda. Made by mixing milk, soda water and crushed ice, Doodh Soda is THE new-age healthy drink in Punjab and Pakistan. It has variations that come with mixing the famous drink 7up with milk and ice or adding Rooh Afza for those with quirky palate. Many people prefer having Doodh Soda with a breakfast of kulchas and Chole. For many people in the aforementioned places, Doodh Soda makes for a good go-to drink in summer as well as in winter.
