Hotel Akash scores with backpackers owing to its location at the further end of the Jogiwara Road, away from the usual tourist buzz of the main square. It has a family suite and a number of standard rooms spread over its three floors. All the rooms are clean, with queen-sized beds, chairs and a dressing table and come with spacious, attached washrooms that have running hot and cold water. Rooms at the back side pore over the very alluring Dhauladhars, making the stay here a great experience. Fresh, made to order meals are available in the common kitchen. Evenings usually see most of the travel guests hanging out in the common hall, catching up on travel tales, guitar lessons and movies. A backpackers’ dream this one.
