Situated in the Phyao Busty in Gangtok, the Sikkim Himalayan Homestay is an easy-on-the-pocket, comfortable accommodation option. Run by a family that knows how to delight guests, it offers surprisingly comfortable double bed rooms. Away from the more tourist regulars, it is nestled in a sleepy hamlet. Fresh Sikkimese food is served in the common room, where you can chat and dine with the family. It also has a tiny library on the terrace that is stacked with some very interesting books on Buddhism and regional arts. This homestay also has a meditation and worship room, open to visitors, on the terrace.
