A mainstay on the Gràcia arts scene, Helio, as it’s known to regulars, started life 17 years ago as a nightclub hosting poetry recitals and live music. Over the years, its added art and photography exhibitions and film screenings to the mix, with a focus on local talent.
It's an unglamourous - rough red walls and a cement floor - and intimate space that gets packed and sweaty, but that’s all part of its charm. A favourite haunt of talent scouts, you may not have heard of any the acts but you won’t leave disappointed.
