All the operations will remain suspended for a short time due to scheduled maintenance work. The temporary shutdown is announced in advance so that travellers can plan ahead. The maintenance is expected to impact both domestic and international flights.The airport’s official website reads:“On 7 May 2026, both runways (09/27 and 14/32) at Mumbai Airport will be temporarily non-operational from 11:00hrs to 17:00hrs for scheduled pre-monsoon maintenance and repair work. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.”What travellers should know:As per airport authorities, operations at Mumbai’s primary aviation hub will remain completely halted from 11 AM to 5 PM on Thursday. During this time, no flights will take off or land, as both runways, 09/27 (primary) and 14/32 (secondary) will remain shut for pre-monsoon maintenance.It is an annual planned closure which takes place before monsoon for safety.
