Mahabaleshwar is one of the most frequented hill stations in India in Western Ghats range of Maharashtra. The greenery, the hills, the natural beauty surrounding the place is absolutely tranquilising. Owing to its hill station status, the place experiences a huge number of weekenders and vacationers during peak seasons and harsh summer months. This vacation town is connected via an extensive network of roads to various parts of Maharashtra and neighbouring states. Mahabaleshwar makes for a perfect holiday destination and hence enjoy a good connectivity with rest part of the country. So, you need not worry about reaching here. Though there is no airport or railway station at Mahabaleshwar, the place is well served by the Pune airport (131 km away) and Wathar railway station (60 km away). From the airport and railway station, you can gt cabs and buses quite easily that will take you this quaint little hill station. Travelling Mumbai to Mahabaleshwar by road is the best option. So one can plan their journey accordingly and choose either to take a bus or drive from Mumbai or Pune.

By air:
The airport closest to Mahabaleshwar is Pune Airport, situated at a distance of around 131 km from here. A number if carriers including Air India, SpiceJet, GoAir and IndiGo operate regular flights for Pune from Indian cities like Jaipur, Delhi, Begaluru and Nagpur, among others. After reaching the airport, one can avail of bus or taxi services to reach Mahabaleshwar.

By road:
Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) provides regular bus services from nearby cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Nasik, Panchgani, Satara and Kolhapur to Mahabaleshwar. One can also hire cabs or taxis from Mumbai and Pune to reach this beautiful hill station. Those driving from Mumbai can take Mumbai-Pune Expressway and NH 4 route to reach Mahabaleshwar. There are various Mumbai to Mahabaleshwar bus and Thane to Mahabaleshwar bus also available which takes around 9 to 10 hours.

By train:
Mahabaleshwar by train can be a little exasperating as the hill station doesn’t has a station of its own. Wathar railway station, located about 60 km away from Mahabaleshwar, is the closest railhead serving this lovely hill station. However, several trains run from Pune and Mumbai to Wathar. Another convenient option is Pune railway station, which enjoys excellent connectivity with the rest of the country. Buses and prepaid taxis are easily available from these railway stations for Mahabaleshwar.
