Things to do
Namgyal Monastery : This sacred building encloses the residence of Dalai Lama and overlooks the mountain ranges of Dhauladhar.

St. John in the Wilderness: This Anglican church is located in between McLeod Ganj and Forsyth Ganj. The adjoining cemetery houses the grave of the British Viceroy Lord Elgin. Visiting hours: 10 am to 5 pm everyday.
Dalai Lama Temple Complex: Situated on Temple Road, the Dalai Lama temple complex is a must visit. It is open daily from sunrise to sunset, but we recommend visiting it early morning when you can join the chanting and meditating monks.

Tibet Museum: Located inside the Tsuglagkhang Complex, this place draws upon traditional Tibetan architecture. It has a valuable collection of historical documents, thangka paintings and manuscripts. The museum shop offers traditional paintings, artefacts and handicrafts.
What to eat McLeod Ganj offers food for the soul as well as the body. Woeser Bakery, Lobsang’s Four Seasons Café, Common Ground Café and Peace Cafe all guarantee a visit. Most cafés also give you the luxury to linger around, play chess and read books.

Namgyal Café merits a visit for its lip-smacking vegetarian food. Do dig into some cheese and spinach pizza and vegetable salad.
