However, the same Marine Drive is on now is news, albeit for the wrong reasons. News has it that the Arabian Sea has washed up more than two lakh kilograms of garbage on the shoreline after the recent high tide.
Recently, the city of Mumbai woke up to tonnes of rotten garbage lying on the Marine Drive road. Needless to say, it was all the litter that we tossed in the sea and other water bodies. Now, the civic authorities have their work cut out, to clean up the huge mess that has become a civic nuisance.
However, Mumbai is not the only city that has been grappling with the issue of sea pollution.
