This former souk-style street has been transformed into a haven for poseurs, creative eccentrics and music-heads. Opened in 2009, the large, rambling Six D.O.G.S ("Six Degrees of Global Separation") remains Athens ultimate hipster headquarters. The name fits - while it's off the regular tourist trail, visitors from London's Shoreditch or Berlin's Kreuzberg may recognise familiar faces here.

An arts centre cum drinking den, Six D.O.G.S segues from a minimal gallery space into a busy cafe-library, then onto one of Athens best live music venues. Take the tunnel underneath these and you'll find perhaps its best asset, a buzzing, semi-secret backyard.
