This glamorous restaurant and bar opened its doors way back in the 1950s, and soon became a fixture in the city. Known for its continental cuisine, jazz performances and plush ambience, Mocambo has lost some of its sheen over the years, but is still popular for those looking for a quiet meal and a drink. The place exudes serious nostalgia, what with its low-hung lampshades (that look like inverted tulips), wooden interiors and clam seats, and it’s easy to imagine the bustling place it was during its heyday. Check out the private cabin fashioned like a saloon at the right-hand corner of the restaurant next to the bar. Staples include ‘Angels on Horseback’ (chicken wrapped in bacon), ‘Pepper Devilled crab’ and ‘Chicken Paprika’.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
