Every city has a bar which, on the face of it, has nothing exceptional going for it, and yet, is a huge hit with the locals. Most such pubs are usually affordable, dependable and familiar: Olypub is that bar for Kolkatans. While many would vouch for the delectable beef steak (the house special), and the ever popular ‘Chicken ala Olypub’ and grilled chicken, the fact is that this is essentially a watering hole. Frequented by college students (for being a budget bar), tourists (who’ve read about its legendary past) and the city’s working class, Olypub also has a prime location, set bang at the centre of Park Street. As would be expected, the interiors are minimalist and functional. Ideal time to visit is before you head out to one of the tony clubs in town to get a head-start to the evening without burning a hole in your pocket.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
