The city of Leipzig recently experienced something uncanny. A nightclub opened its doors, and people danced as if the last one year has been a lie. Germany has opened its first nightclub since the pandemic broke out, as the country is seeing a steady decline in infection rate. The club called Distillery is situated in the city of Leipzig.
There is yet another important piece of news we would like to add to this. In a momentous decision, German nightclubs could be declared as cultural institutions in the coming days.
The German parliament has already passed a resolution that declares clubs as cultural institutions. It is now up to the nation’s government to approve this resolution. With the approval of this resolution, German nightclubs, as well as live venues, will come under special laws for cultural purposes. This would put the focus on artists, and young talents, among other things.
The German parliament plans to give cultural status to clubs, thereby honouring the work done by artists, employees, operators, and everyone else involved in this line of work.
