Puerta Uno
An underground secret drinking den
Tipple of choice: The talented barman specialises in sake and fruit concoctions.

Noteworthy for: The interiors change every few months to keep it fresh, though it helps that co-owner Marcelo’s mother runs a stylish furniture rental company.
Talk of the town: Co-owner Robertino’s father won the World Cup with Argentina in 1978, which makes him akin to royalty.

Don’t turn up without a password, or at least a connection to owners Robertiño and Marcelo, because you won't get in. Puerto Una prides itself on being distinctly underground, and hard to find. Look for a Harley Davidson motorbike, and knock on the unmarked black door behind it. Whisper the secret code, and join the other people cool enough to be in the know.

While it isn’t quite as secret or underground as it would like to make out, the crowd is unpretentious and the music a fun mash-up between club and rock. Part of its success is due to its Belgrano location – just round the corner from Barrio Chino – the more down-to-earth neighbour to Palermo.
