No Black Tie

No Black Tie, or NBT as it’s affectionately known, is the city’s singular spot for jazz, Brazilian funk, poetry and the occasional dose of Chopin. Owned by Malaysian concert pianist Evelyn Hill who has a knack for finding talented singers and songwriters, the jazz bar’s intimate wooden interior provides audiences with a delightfully cosy atmosphere. No Black Tie’s gastro-bar mainly offers Japanese delights including chef specialties like the soft shell crab agemaki and the spaghetti mentaiko, combined with an extensive selection of quality wines. The venue has seen performances by the region’s best musicians as well as an impressive line-up of international acts.
